Nov 2000 Dear PMers, Sipping spanish wine in a cafe late on a Saturday evening in Leipzig, as Winter approaches, and the days shorten rapidly, leaves fall, snow looms...and thinking back to the few weeks spent at "home" (NZ, to remind myself and others). Germany has been my base for two and a half years already, and is likely to be that for a while yet. It was surreal to spend 24 hours in a metal tube at 10,000m and step out into almost blinding Spring sunlight, intense blue skies, bright green hills rolling like waves...and the ocean that perhaps I miss the most. A few days in an old red van (pic series may appear) touring the North Island to catch up with family, friends, and sleep on beaches ("Hi" to the happy dancing girl at Karekare). And a big "Hi, and many thanks" to the guys at PM headquarters and Neil at Shadowcatcher...your continued support is appreciated very much. I managed to spend a few days in Barcelona before taking a very long train trip back to eastern Germany, which was also time well spent despite losing a tooth on the flight (some good rumours could be started about that!)...And now, the real business of teaching to support my projects (the main ones: a canal, and industrial landscapes) and, well...could write more, but alas time waits for no-one. Best wishes to all for Christmas and New Year...keep your fingers on the button! Zum Wohl, Dean
