ExhibitPlus 2000.03 Natalia. Tragic Tales_hf
March 2000
Winter is over...and we won the Cup: Congratulations! All´s well in the world then. Except I´m still doing marathons in the darkroom during the weekends (30 and 40 hours non-stop in the last two), but I´m almost ready for both April exhibitions now. Deadlines have a habit of approaching faster that I can come up with "Ich möchte ein Big Mac"!, and earning a living keeps getting in the way of being a photographer.
This month´s image is another from the series of "short stories" that´s going to Hungary early in April. I´m still hoping to go there for a few days as well.
"From where I sit", Germany´s current political financial scandal (heard of it in NZ?) seems to pale into insignificance with the continuing mess in the former Yugoslavia...a good friend has just been appointed by the UN to go to help sort out their administration ("what administration?") problems. Despite a UN officer having been killed recently for talking to Albanians in the Serbian language, and the UN itself having cashflow problems (apparently unable to pay its field staff at the moment) she will start work in a few weeks. A brave, dedicated woman...
So, with that reminder, there´s no time to sit on my chuff...things to do, people to see.
Dean
